Tomato Thokku

Hmm Yummy tasty and spicy that's what tomato thokku is... Very easy to make and Very Delicious.





Here is how I make it:



Ingredients:

Tomatoes - 4 cut into pieces or use Tomato puree 1 cup
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 1/2 tsp or as required
Mustard - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Oil - 2 tsp

Preparation:

1. Heat oil in the pan, add mustard, let it sputter, add asafoetida and add the cut tomatoes to it.
2. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
3. Let the tomatoes get cooked and it would get into half.
4. Remove from fire when the paste does not stick to the bottom of the pan and oil comes separate.

So here is tomato thokku which can be eaten with masala dosa or with rasam rice or with curd rice. It tastes great with whatever you eat with. :-)
